What Others Say about Judge DePiazza

Constituents

  • Justice DePiazza, I just wanted to follow up. I was very impressed with your take on the implications of so many families without a father figure present. It seems like a very disturbing trend.

I stepped in the back of your court for part of the proceedings of one case, by the way, and watched that. I'm glad that we have people like you on the front lines. If you are ever in a contested race, please contact me and let me know how I can help. --Regan Coleman, Harvard Alumni Association

  • Hello Mr. James R. DePiazza, I would like to thank you for opening my eyes with your fatherly advice. My father is deceased and I needed to hear the honest truth about the choices I make affecting my children. Thank you. --Ollie W.

  • Judge DePiazza, Hello! I just wanted to send a quick note to say thank you for introducing us to "The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work." We have been reading it aloud to one another and it has brought about some great conversation, recognition as well as re-affirmation about us as a couple. We plan to keep this book and turn to it every year or so to remind us of the importance of our communication to one another and to ensure that we can correctly handle situations so not to endanger our marriage. We have decided to always keep and read a relationship building book together to help stay focused on what is most important...our relationship. Thanks again for your kind and insightful words during our ceremony. --Laycie & Steven W.

  • Judge DePiazza, We are so thankful you could officiate our ceremony. What a wonderful day and we're glad you could be a big part. Thank you. --Mark & Christine G.

  • Goltan and I wanted to express our thanks for the caring marriage ceremony. Thank you for helping us begin our new lives together. --Karla & Goltan L.

  • Judge DePiazza: We just wanted to thank you for your time and the [vow renewal] service, everyone thought your words were very nice! A picture is attached, as we thought you might keep photos from weddings you perform. Thanks again and maybe we'll see you again in a few years!! --Doug & Donna L

  • You performed our marriage on Feb. 24th of this year, and gave us a printout from Amazon.com telling us of the book 'The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work." We bought the book. Not only is it a fantastic way to deepen knowledge of your significant other, but it has taught us so much about ourselves. Best book we've ever read. Hands down.

We just want to tell you how much we appreciate the fact that you care about those you unite in marriage.
What a fantastic way to show it! --Scott & Michell H.

School Cases

  • Dear Judge, I would just like to apologize for wasting your time. I understand that you deal with a lot of irresponsible kids like me and how time consuming it must be. I know that I don't enjoy people wasting my time. So I would assume you don't appreciate it either. That is why I am writing this letter to apologize. I'm sure there are better things you'd like to do other than dealing with kids like me. However, without you I would've never gotten sentenced to [Pathfinders Behavior Modification Program] and my life would be the same. I would not only like to apologize, but also thank you. Thank you for helping me realize my ways and giving me a way to bond with my parents again. I would also like to apologize again too. It means a lot that you took time out of your life to help me. I'm sorry it was in a court room though. -- The Colony High School Student

  • Dear Judge DePiazza, Just a word of thanks for going above and beyond the call of duty for my son. You are a good man and I wish you the best for your future. I'll let you know how things work out. Warmest regards, Michelle D.

  • Thank you very much for taking time out of your busy schedule to check up on my son. He was so proud of the coloring book you gave him. I am truly greatful. Thank you. --Christie H.

  • Dear Judge DePiazza, I would first like to thank you for the chance you are giving me.

I have enrolled to an alternative school at Red Rock High School here in Sedona and I will be graduated on time and I will be walking with the Class of 2009. I am currently looking for a new job, but I will be making all of your requirements to get my situation under control. --Nick S.

  • Dear Judge DePiazza, We just wanted to say thanks for helping Nick. Nick came through with a 4.0 grade average and graduated with pride, thanks to your involvement. --Al & Trish S. (parents of Nick S.)

  • Dear Judge DePiazza, Thank you so much for taking time out of your schedule to judge the chess tournament and to help out Igor. We sincerely appreciate all you do for The City of The Colony and the Parks and Recreation Department. Thanks again. --The TC PARD Staff

  • Dear Judge DePiazza: Once again, thank you so much for coming to Little Elm High School on Friday, November 30, 2007, to speak to the criminal justice class on the duties and responsibilities of the Justice of the Peace office. Like all of us in the criminal justice profession, I know your time is limited and valuable. I appreciate you making the time in your busy schedule to share your knowledge with the class.

The 'thank you' notes from my class of criminal justice students are enclosed. As you can see from their comments, all very much enjoyed your class and learned a great deal, even given the limited amount of time you had to present the material. The fact that seemed to make the most impression was that their parents could take their paycheck. As you stated, I'm sure that is the one fact they will not share with their parents. They all expressed an interest in you coming back again. Your presentation touched on all the things I'd hope you would cover related to juvenile justice.

Thanks again, and if I can be of service to you in the Little Elm Area, do not hesitate to call on me. --Sgt. Steve Garst, Little Elm Police Department

  • Dear Judge DePiazza: Once again, thank you so much for coming to Little Elm High School on Friday, March 20, 2008, to speak with the criminal justice class on the duties and responsibilities of the Justice of the Peace office. As I stated earlier, I know your time is limited and valuable. I appreciate you making the time in your busy schedule to share your knowledge with the classes.

The 'thank you' notes from my class of criminal justice students are enclosed. As you can see from their comments, all very much enjoyed your class and learned a great deal. I know they got a lot out of it because these notes were not written until they got back from spring break, so they actually retained what you said for longer than a week.

Thanks again, and if I can be of service to you in the Little Elm area, do not hesitate to call on me. -- Sgt Steve Garst, Little Elm Police Department
