Q & A
- What was your responsibility with the recent Justice of the Peace Pct. 2 alcohol election?
The
Justice of the Peace is not responsible for alcohol elections. The
boundaries for alcohol elections are that of the Justice of the Peace
precincts in the entire State. I purposely remained neutral for that
election and did not get involved with either side of the issue. The
responsible office for verifying the petitions and managing the
election was Denton County Election Administration.
- Why are you a Republican?
I am a conservative who lives strictly by my values and principles. The Republican Party most closely aligns with those and I strongly believe that if our country espoused with the Republican Platform in whole, it would be a more successful and stable nation.
- What are some of these "values and principles"?
Some of my more passionate issues include:
1. I believe that life starts at the moment of conception and should be protected until natural death.
2. I believe that we are a sovereign nation and that our Federal Government has the responsibility to protect our borders from illegal immigration. If the Federal Government fails in that responsibility, the State has the right and responsibility to step up and take control.
3. I believe in limited government. Government programs are not the solution to the problems that ail our country.
4. I believe in fiscal responsibility in both of the individual and the government. Deficit spending will not make an individual successful and it surely wont make an individual successful and it surely won't make our country successful.
5. I believe that the Constitution is static, meaning that our Founding Fathers' faith and ideals need to be the standard for interpreting the Constitution. The meaning or intention of our Constitution does not change over time.
6. I believe that people need to take responsibility for their own success. We have a great freedom in our country: The freedom to succeed and the freedom to fail. No government program should bailout any person or business because of poor choices that led to failure.
7. I believe in the rule of law and that people should be held accountable when they break those rules. Activist judges have no place in our judicial system.
